Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit manuscripts that have not been published or under review elsewhere. Submissions must adhere to the following requirements:

1. Type of Article

Empirical research, literature review, conceptual or theoretical study, or case study in Qur’anic Studies and Tafsir.

2. Language

Manuscripts may be written in English or Bahasa Indonesia with proper academic grammar.

3. Length

5,000–9,000 words, including abstract, footnotes, and references.

4. Structure

  • Title (max. 20 words, in English and Indonesian)
  • Author(s) and Affiliation(s)
  • Abstract (150–250 words) and Keywords (3–5 words)
  • Introduction
  • Methodology
  • Results and Discussion
  • Conclusion
  • References (APA 7th Edition)

5. Citation Style

APA 7th Edition. Reference management tools such as Zotero or Mendeley are strongly recommended.

6. Originality

All submissions will be checked for plagiarism (maximum similarity index: 20%).

7. Ethics

Manuscripts must comply with international publication ethics (COPE standards).

8. File Format

Microsoft Word (.docx).

9. Template

Authors must use the official Mufassir manuscript template, downloadable from the journal website.

Submissions not conforming to these guidelines may be returned to the author before review.

Submission Preparation Checklist

Please check all items before proceeding:

✅ The manuscript has not been published and is not under review elsewhere.

✅ The manuscript is free from plagiarism (similarity index is below 20%).

✅ The manuscript follows the Author Guidelines and formatting requirements.

✅ The manuscript is 5,000-9,000 words in length.

✅ Title is maximum 20 words in both Indonesian and English.

✅ Abstract is 150-250 words in both Indonesian and English.

✅ Keywords are 3-5 phrases, alphabetically ordered, separated by semicolons.

✅ The manuscript structure includes: Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion.

✅ Citation style follows the APA 7th Edition consistently

✅ All citations use in-text format: (Author, Year) or (Author, Year, p. X).

✅ All sources cited in the text appear in the Reference List, and vice versa.

✅ The reference list includes at least 30-40 sources.

✅ 70-80% of references are from journals/research publications.

✅ 70-80% of references are from the last 5 years.

✅ All journal references include DOI (if available).

✅ The main manuscript file is anonymized for blind review.

✅ Cover Letter has been prepared.

✅ Author Statement/Authorship Form has been prepared.

✅ Conflict of Interest Statement has been prepared.

✅ All authors and affiliations are correctly listed.

✅ Corresponding author has been designated.

✅ The manuscript file is prepared in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).

✅ I agree with the copyright and publication ethics policies of Mufassir Journal.
