The problem of low Qur’anic literacy among students of public senior high schools in Indonesia is a chronic educational challenge that requires systematic and creative solutions. This community service article reports the implementation of the Student Professional Practice (PPM) program carried out by eight students of the Qur’anic Sciences and Tafsir Study Program, Faculty of Ushuluddin, UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, at SMAN 24 Bandung from January 15 to February 21, 2026. The service program was designed using the Participatory Action approach and implemented through three main activity axes: (1) Islamic Religious Education and Moral Conduct (PABP) teaching using the question-and-answer, lecture, and discussion methods; (2) Al-Qur’an content learning through tafsīr explanation, asbāb al-nuzūl contextualization, and daily value implementation; and (3) tahṣīn learning via talaqqī and sorōgan methods, supplemented by the Qur’an Care halāqah program. Initial assessment confirmed the heterogeneity of students’ foundational Qur’anic literacy. Results of the service program showed: improvement in Qur’anic reading competence among students with basic deficiencies, heightened religious awareness and intrinsic motivation to study Al-Qur’an, increased activeness in classroom learning, and the emergence of a Qur’anic learning culture within the school environment.
